Fun on the Farm!

Josh has been studying farms at preschool and I was lucky enough to go with him on a field to to Superstition Farms....a HUGE dairy farm just a couple of miles from our house a couple of weeks ago....

This is his teacher helping his pet the donkey.
Josh was very cautious of the animals -- loved them from a distance. I was only able to get him to feed the animals food out of his hands once.
A little bunny rabbit was much safer to pet. So soft!

The kids ate treats of ice cream and flavored milk.

A happy boy....who was not happy to go home when it was over. It took bribing him with McDonalds to get him to leave. What a fun morning!

All About Jeff....

Do I have other children? Just kidding....
I would be remiss if I didn't go back and mention Jeff turning 14 on August 30th and 10 days later becoming our first EAGLE SCOUT! Wooo hooo...way to go Jeff. We're so proud of the young man he is - honest, brave, clean, trustworthy, etc. On top of that, he's wanting to do more in scouting, so last weekend Steve took he and his good friend Logan to be inducted into The Order of the Arrow....so he's now an OA member. Steve signed up to be an Assistant Chief in the Chapter. We're currently in the process of planning Jeff's Eagle Court of Honor....stay tuned for an official date.

Long Lost Blogger Returns......

So after disappearing for 2 months, I have a new goal to update the blog every Sunday -- no excuse for not doing at least that much. Keeping this family journal updated, along with keeping our connection to long distance family members is too important not to keep this blog going.

Love Jeff's tie? In late Aug/Sept., Steve was in the garage digging through boxes looking for his old scout shirts and stumbled across his dad's bow ties (4 of them) he wore in his early days. Jeff thought they were 'the bomb" and has been wearing them to church EVERY Sunday since then. Perhaps they'll become his new trademark...how knows. But I thought grandpa Hartman might enjoy seeing a picture....
